Introduction

No successful organisation can continue to exist without professional and capable managers. However, in many cases, managers are promoted without any formal training in the vital management skills necessary to fulfil their role. It is unfair on the individual and sometimes disastrous for the organisation to have a manager who does not have these skills.

This course will explore the implications, responsibilities, challenges and opportunities of successful management. We will identify successful leadership styles. We will then seek to understand our own leadership strengths and weaknesses and then look at how to apply these skills effectively to different situations and different people.

We will look at the special skills required to manage, motivate and communicate with successful teams. Getting the most out of every minute and reducing our stress is vital to us and our teams. Setting realistic goals is vital as is the attitudes and values to achieve.
