Day 1: Leadership Skills
Leadership is a complex process by which a person influences others to accomplish a mission, task, or objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent. This module provides you with the knowledge and tools you need to create an environment that brings out the best in people, improving workers' attitude, morale and on-the-job performance. The module is designed to help leaders identify the most effective ways to transform their organizations. It focuses on helping leaders understand the leader’s role in their organisation; understand the relationship between managerial style, competencies, managerial requirements and change.
Today, more than ever, organisations must capitalise on a changing business environment, improve effectiveness and overall productivity, formulate and implement a planning process, and make better strategic decisions. The Strategic Planning training module will provide you with the skills you need to create and develop an effective strategic plan that gives specific direction and yet is flexible enough to change and modify. The module is designed to ensure every member of the company not only understands their role in implementation but that they understand and are involved in both the development and execution of the planning process.
Day 3: Effective Decision Making
Decision Making is a ‘life skill’ used constantly by everyone... but most people cannot describe the process they use to solve everyday problems! In this workshop we discuss a variety of problem solving techniques, present a few exercises, which demonstrate the need to stand back and resist “leaping in”, and put in place a structured approach as an aid to finding effective solutions for all types of problem. Harness the power of decision making in your organisation! Learn the latest models and techniques of decision-making. This module is designed for you to learn how to solve problems and make decisions currently facing your organisation. The module starts with the basics of decision-making, and proceeds to cover advanced techniques, real-world case studies, model building and more.
Performance management is a collaborative process of supporting employee performance success while accomplishing the strategic objectives of the organization. With the goals of the organisation as the reference point, the performance manager and employee together identify desired results, establish written performance expectations, discuss performance outcomes, appraise employee performance and identify learning and development opportunities. This module provides you the (know-how) for managing employee performance with the aim of enhancing and recognizing performance, increasing employee and departmental productivity and encouraging job satisfaction.
Day 5: Communication Skills
Interpersonal communication is the process of interacting with people to maximize the presence of the personal. It is a personal quality of contact that goes beyond a social exchange and includes active listening, the validation of nonverbal cues, and the recognition of the uniqueness of the other person. Communicating effectively means understanding the dynamics of the interpersonal exchange and being actively involved in the co-creation of shared meaning between two or more people in the work place. This interactive module is specifically designed to empower people with the knowledge and skills needed to maximise the human qualities in the communication model. Participants will learn how to relate to recognise and maximise the value of the human personhood by understanding the importance of nonverbal and verbal communication messages and behaviours that can be applied to business settings.
